This policy explains how Map Scraper handles account, subscription, licence and extension usage data.
Account data
We collect account details such as name, email address, hashed password, subscription and licence records, payment status from our payment provider, and messages you send to support.
Extension licence data
The extension sends licence key status, generated browser device ID, device name, extension version and connection status to mapscraper.xyz so the dashboard can verify access and protect one-browser licence use.
Usage events
The extension can send limited usage events such as action type, search query, result count, export count and timestamps. We use this information to enforce plan limits, show dashboard analytics, improve reliability and prevent licence abuse.
Local browser data
Collected lead rows, selected fields, interface settings, saved licence key and generated browser device ID are stored locally in your browser. Lead rows stay local unless you export them or choose to use them elsewhere.
Optional website access
When email or social discovery is enabled, the extension may request optional website access so it can visit public business websites found in your search results and identify visible contact links.
How we use data
We use data to provide dashboard access, verify subscriptions, protect licence keys from sharing, process payments, show usage analytics, send account notifications and improve the product.
Payments
Crypto checkout is handled by NOWPayments. We store order status and payment references, but we do not store private wallet keys or payment credentials.
Data sale
We do not sell user data.
Security
Sessions use secure cookies in production, passwords are hashed, and sensitive APIs require authentication or a valid active licence/device check.
